Pet Play Worker Job Description

Pet Play Worker:

The Pet Play Worker is responsible for caring for animals' lives and ensuring their safety while they are boarding or in our daycare program. The Pet Play Worker will also be assigned to work closely with individuals with disabilities, and will to the best of their abilities, help the individual(s) to learn on-the-job skills and responsibilities. Some of these tasks are listed below, but are not all-inclusive.


  • Know and comply with all Medina Creative Accessibility (MCA) procedures and train all employees/individuals in following procedures.
  • Know and follow all individual ISPs.
  • Maintain and oversee all tracking logs, documentation logs and ensure individuals are aware of how to complete.
  • Maintain contact with the Manager and Employment Services Manager to maintain positive teamwork.
  • Attend ISP meetings as requested.
  • Know and follow all emergency procedures.
  • Train all employees and individuals in good work-related manners and habits.
  • Clock in individuals daily when they arrive at work and leave for the shift.
  • Provide training to individuals as needed.
  • Recommend changes to the manager as needed to improve the work environment.
  • Maintain education on proper care and treatment of all animals.
  • Report any unusual incidents immediately to the manager.
  • Monitor throughout shift to hold the facility to the highest cleanliness standards.
  • Keep the environment safe for our furry friends.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for long periods, giving the dogs your undivided attention while actively monitoring all health and behavioral issues and address as needed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong friendly customer services skills are also required as you will be interacting with the public as well.
  • Answer the phone, interact with and answer questions of pet owners as they drop off and pickup their animals.
  • Be a part of the supportive tea, that works together daily to make Pet Play a successful daycare and boarding facility.



MCA Employee Requirements:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must undergo a criminal background check and registry checks
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified (training provided)
  • 8 hour Provider course through DODD
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Continuing Education
