Non-Medical Transportation Job Description

Non-Medical Transportation Driver:

The Non-Medical Transportation Driver (NMT) is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals we provide services to. The goal of the MNT is to assist in increasing the independence of the individual by helping these individuals get to and from their places of employment and/or agency provided day programs. These tasks include, but are not limited to:


  • Transfer: assistance in and out of wheelchairs for transporting, etc.
  • Transportation: provide transportation to their various enclave employment positions.
  • Basic Supervision:Assessing, monitoring, and supervising the individual to ensure the individual's safety, health and welfare.
  • ISP Services: provide tasks and services according to the individual's ISP.
  • Documentation: keep documentation logs for ISP services, medication administration, activity logs, etc.
  • Adhere and know Medina Creative Accessibility procedures.



MCA Employee Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Criminal background check
  • Written assurance that the applicant is not on the abuser registry or nurse aid registry, Medicaid/Medicare Excluded Individuals/ Entities Program (LEIE)
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid
  • Ongoing Annual Training
  • Training relating to, and the prevention of, incidents adversely affecting health and safety
  • Individual Rights Training
  • Compliance with requirements of behavior supports
  • Must have a valid Ohio drivers license / Ohio vehicle insurance coverage and reliable vehicle transportation at all times
  • Medication administration certification as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
