Have you ever thought about the work that goes into helping people with disabilities? Medina Creative Housing is the place to help, they have made many different opportunities to change the lives of people with disabilities. They are a non profit organization that formed in 1992. Their Medina location is, 232 North Court Street. They help the lives of people in many ways such as providing daily home cooked meals. Their mission is to develop quality housing, services, and supports to enable individuals with disabilities to live their lives. In the future they hope to keep developing confidence and to create more hope.
When we were given the assignment to select a non-profit organization it was easy for me to choose because of my personal connection to Medina Creative Housing. I have an older sister who took horseback riding lessons at Medina Creative Therapy Ranch. My sister just turned 18 years old. She was born without a part of her brain. Doctors told my parents she would never be able to walk or talk. Horseback riding therapy helped her learn to walk when she was 4 years old. Feeling the motion of the horse walking helped teach her brain to do the same. My sister's picture was even on their brochure. Medina Creative Housing holds parties and events for people with disabilities and we have taken my sister and she has had a great time.
Special Olympics is a great program and Medina Creative Housing partnered with the Medina county board of developmental disabilities to make it available in Medina and kids like my sister get to enjoy it in the spring. My sister is only one example, there are many people in the community just like my sister who will benefit from their services.
Medina Creative Housing relies on donations to continue to support people with disabilities. Donation money is used for the boarding and feeding the horses, the equipment, materials to build houses, and to pay their staff. They also use donations to have their parties and events. This organization would put an extra 100 dollars to good use.
Medina Creative Housing is an important organization to Medina county because they help disabled individuals in need and without it many citizens of Medina who are disabled would have less support. The organization wants to change the lives of people with disabilities and are well on their way. They deserve the 100 dollar donation because they have already helped so many people and are helping even more. Medina creative housing shows their kindness and passion for helping people who have disabilities each and every day with each project that they do. I could go on and on about all of the good things Medina Creative Housing does for people with disabilities. But the most important thing they do is make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, just like my sister.
