Grand Cafe Cook (Supervisor) Job Description

Grande Café Cook (Supervisor):

The Grande Café Cook works closely with the Grande Café Manager to oversee the operations of the café. It is their duty to ensure the overall health and safety of all individuals and help the employees and individuals under their care learn on-the-job-skills necessary for operating a café. The Grande Café Cooks primary area of focus will be the back of the house (kitchen).


General Job Duties:

  • Know and follow the Grande Café menu
  • Know and comply with all Medina Creative Accessibility (MCA) procedures and train all employees to follow these procedures.
  • Maintain and oversee all tracking logs and documentation. Train all employees on proper documentation procedures.
  • Maintain contact with Grande Café manager.
  • Turn in all paperwork, receipts, and any other required documents promptly.
  • Know and follow all emergency procedures.
  • Train all employees on work-related manners and habits.
  • Know and comply with all Department of Health food and safety standards.
  • Maintain all equipment and notify the Property Maintenance Manager of any broken or damaged equipment.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of all café items and provide a list of items needed so that the Grande Café Manager can get the items to you.
  • Suggestive Selling / Up-selling and create ways to reach the sales goals set forth by the Grande Café Manager and Director of Services.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of the sit which you are working.
  • Apply to obtain Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification
  • Maintain ServSafe Manager Level 2 Certification.
  • Stock, organize, and clean all front-of-house areas as scheduled by Grande Café Manager:
  • Dining Ara - includes floors, tables, and chairs, dishes, and trash.
  • Coffee Machines - grinder, coffee maker, espresso machine and grinder.
  • Appliances - microwave, panini maker, all coolers, and pantry cases (glass and shelves).
  • Restrooms
  • Miscellaneous - food prep floors, dish room floors and walls, sink, dishwasher.

Supplemental Duties:

  • Conduct Vohab Participation (consumer) Curriculum and Training for 1 hour daily, along with corresponding documentation.
  • Conduct Vohab participant (consumer) Community Integration on a weekly basis with outings meant to ensure all participants get to attend monthly, along with corresponding documentation.
  • Complete Vohab Participation (consumer) Documentation daily to ensure that we are in compliance.  (This includes daily case notes and Achievement Outcome Compliance)
  • Timely submission of documents to the Services Manager is required - expected no later than the 5th day of the month.





MCA Employee Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Criminal background check (Provided)
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid Training (Provided)
  • Ongoing annual training
  • Must have a valid Ohio drivers license, Ohio vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation at all times
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more
