Two charitable funds serving Medina County awarded a combined $41,900 in grants on Friday, June 8, 2012. The Medina County Community Fund and the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund, both affiliates of Akron Community Foundation, issued grants to twenty-one nonprofits this year, bringing their total distributions to more than $450,000.
The Medina County Community Fund supports programs that improve the lives of all Medina County residents, while the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund specifically focuses on programs that address the needs of local women and children.

Medina Creative Housing received $6,000 from the Medina County Community Fund to develop a train-the-trainer program for our Medina Creative Pet Play Doggie Day Care Program. Additionally, the Medina County’s Women’s Endowment Fund gave Medina Creative Housing $1,000 to support Life Steps, a life skills training camp for youth and adults with disabilities.
