On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, twenty Japanese professionals from the Socio-Medical Research Group under the direction of Dr. Okada from Tokyo toured Medina Creative Housing and its programs to view best practices in housing and services for individuals with disabilities. The Socio-Medical Research Group brings physicians, physical therapists, nurses and other clinical and administrative personnel to the United States to learn about healthcare delivery models which can be tested in Japan. The group is sponsored by the Baldwin Wallace University Healthcare MBA Program. The Socio-Medical Research Group interacted with Medina Creative Housing residents and program participants and enjoyed a lunch prepared and served by the Creative Café at Lodi Hospital employees. In appreciation of the visit and information shared, Dr. Okada made a generous $500.00 donation to Medina Creative Housing in support of their important work on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
